Perth project brought forward
18 July 2017
Construction of the Perth Link Roads will start before the end of the year.
The works will run from the South Esk River Bridge to the Illawarra Road in the west and connect with the new Perth to Breadalbane section of the Midland Highway north of the town.
The project will improve the safety and amenity of the town by removing heavy vehicles from the township and making the main streets safer for pedestrians while saving time for freight operators.
The design went on display to the public in Perth, and on the Midland Highway website, on 18 March.
The project is expected to go to tender by the middle of the year.
The announcement to bring the project forward was made by the Tasmanian and Australian Governments on 5 March 2017.
